Generate more clips, faster

Hit Generate more clips on a project and the new ones show up a lot quicker than they used to.

Speaker detection during video processing is faster and more robust, so we don't have to go looking again every time you want more clips out of it. You get the same framing you got before, with less waiting around for it.

Trim a clip and the crop follows

Trim a clip in the editor and the vertical crop re-centers on whoever's talking in the part you kept.

Previously, the crop would stay wherever the original clip put it, so trimming into a different part of the conversation could leave the video framed on the person sitting quietly. Now the framing moves with your trim.

Renaming a clip or restyling its captions won't touch the crop. It only changes when you change the timing.

Videos you already uploaded

Everything in your account works like it did yesterday. Pulling more clips out of an older video takes about as long as it always has, and trimming one of its clips keeps the crop it already had. Upload something new and you'll get both of these.

Upload a video, get clips back

Drop a recording on the upload page or browse for it, and it uploads straight from your browser with a progress bar the whole way. Sources up to 2 GB work. From there InstaClips analyzes the recording end to end, picks the moments worth clipping, and builds each one into a finished vertical clip.

You never start by hunting for timestamps. You start with quality candidates, and you edit from there (but only if you want to).

Every clip is framed and captioned

Each clip comes back vertical with the crop centered on the speaker's face, so a recording shot wide doesn't turn into a clip of somebody's shoulder. Captions are word-level: each word highlights as it's spoken, timed against the transcript for higher quality.

Short brightness flashes get repaired for you. A camera's auto-exposure snapping mid-shot is invisible while you're reviewing an hour of footage and very obvious once that moment is a looping 30-second clip, so those frames are found and dropped before they reach you.

Trim before you export

Every clip can open in our browser based editor with the source video, an audio waveform, and the full transcript alongside each other. Move the start and end anywhere in the source, not only inside the clip's suggested window. Click any word in the transcript to send the playhead there.

The InstaClips editor's video preview shows the real vertical crop with the captions over it, so what you're watching is what exports.

Exports keep their history

Export a clip and download it. Edit that clip, export again, and the new version sits alongside the old one instead of replacing it. Every version stays downloadable.
